Cassis is a small, picturesque, traditional fishing port that sits in a natural Amphitheatre below the Cap Canaille on the Mediterranean coastline. The existence of wine production here has been recorded as far back as 1199, but today there are only a handful of producers whose main market is the thriving tourist trade.
Sebastien and Jean Louis Genovesi work this small Domaine producing aromatic, fresh wines using traditional local grape varieties. The wines are a natural match for seafood, however we also find them a good pairing with pork.
They were named as 'Notre Coup de Coeur' in the Revue du vin de France, a prestigious piece of wine literature, literally meaning that they conquered the hearts of the writers. A high accolade and one they truly deserve.
